Cory Brunner - Vice President of Interpreting Services
My first exposure to ASL was through a friend whose brother was Deaf, and then through the Deaf community in Boston. A graduate of Northeastern University, I now reside in Vermont. I am a working, credentialed interpreter with over 20 years in the field. I am actively involved in the Deaf and Interpreting Communities and have held a variety of positions through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf affiliate chapters in Massachusetts and in Vermont. Most recently I was the co-chair of the Vermont RID mentorship program and am a current Advisory Council member of Deaf Vermonters Advocacy Service.
In May of 2019 I was hired as the Director of Interpreter Services. I oversee all of their Sign Language Interpreting contracts nationwide. I am responsible for vetting Interpreters and ensuring that Vancro is providing exceptional service. Vancro has a very unique approach to procuring Interpreters: One that honors Deaf preference and Interpreter term and conditions while providing excellent service to our requestors. We are always open to feedback. You can call/ zoom/ or email me anytime.
Vancro is hiring and is a great place to work. We are growing and we want you to join us!
Jessica Huntzinger - Deputy Director of Interpreting Services / Program Manager
My involvement with Sign Language began in college where I met some of the most influential people of the local Deaf community. They not only supported my education but encouraged my career in Interpreting. Years later, I graduated from California State University, Northridge and began my interpreting career in Louisiana. As a military spouse, my experiences from living in different parts of the United States and interactions with Deaf and Interpreting communities all over have molded me into who I am today.
I currently serve as Vancro’s Deputy Director of Interpreting services overseeing all of Vancro’s American Sign Language contracts nationwide. Through my years of experience with Interpreting and becoming Nationally certified, Interpreting is still something I am passionate about and excited to share my zest with anyone I meet. I am thrilled to be part of team Vancro. Vancro is hiring, come join our team!

Marcus Gunter - Interpreting Services
My introduction and journey with American Sign Language and interpreting began my first semester of college in my hometown of Sacramento, CA. I was quickly immersed into Deaf Culture and surrounded myself with sign language. I graduated from the interpreting program at Americana River College and went on to CSU, Northridge to obtain my bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies and am currently working on my master’s degree in Interpreting/Teaching at Western Oregon University. After 12 years within the profession and becoming RID certified, interpreting is still my passion, so much that it is my work and my hobby! Within VIIS, I am part of the leadership team and manage most of the Western United States contracts and interpreters in addition to interpreting, teaching, and mentoring.
Taylor Ofori - VIIS leadership team
My journey with ASL began at the University of New Mexico. I was about to finish my first degree in Criminology, and I needed to take a foreign language class in order to fulfil my degree requirements. I took Intro to ASL and began interacting with members of the D/deaf community. I realized that my calling was not Criminology, but interpreting. I graduated with my first degree and went back to school for 3 more years to get my degree in Signed Language Interpreting. I am currently enrolled in the Certificate in Healthcare Interpreting Program through RIT with a graduation date in June 2021. As a part of the VIIS leadership team I assist with interpreter recruitment, outreach, social media, contracts, interpreting, and anything else that might come up. VIIS is a special place to work. We are interpreter and client focused. Want to learn more? Send me an email, I'm happy to have a zoom call about our amazing and supportive company culture or current openings any time! Page Kirby - Program Manager
I was introduced to ASL by taking a course at my local community college while I was in high school. I started going to the few Deaf events we had in our small community in Northern Nevada and began taking any classes related to ASL, Deaf culture and interpreting. I quickly learned that interpreters were in short supply in our area, as well as many other areas across the country. I was fascinated with the interpreting process and loved that as interpreters, we never stop growing and improving. I feel privileged to be a part of the Deaf community as an ally, interpreter, and friend. I am approaching 10 years of interpreting experience, and I am excited to be adding to this as a program manager for Vancro VIIS.
