Kristal Hier

Vermont – CI, CT

Kristal is a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelors degree in American Sign Language-English Interpreting. She also holds an Associates degree in Educational Interpreting from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, a college of Rochester Institute of Technology.

Ms. Haynes-Hier has been working as a professional interpreter since 2000, first as a staff interpreter at Northeastern University and then as a part-time freelancer in the greater Boston area. In 2004, she moved back home to Vermont, where she has since been in private practice interpreting in a variety of settings: educational(high school and post secondary), employment, training, medical, VRI, VRS and professional.  She has worked for the state and the Federal government. She is SAMS registered. Kristal also does extensive remote Interpreting work for requested needs all over the country.

Ms. Haynes-Hier is very involved in the Vermont Deaf and Interpreting community, serving in a variety of leadership roles and on numerous committees.
