Hello, my name is Kim Bass. I have an A.A. from The University of Akron and my B.S. in Legal Studies from Lake Erie College. I then received my M.S. in Vocational Rehabilitation with a focus on Deafness from the University of Arkansas.
Since the spring of 2006, I have worked part time as a video relay interpreter for Sorenson Communications. I also teach American Sign Language classes at The University of Akron.
I have worked for Signing Time since July 2010. I am a Certified Master Level Instructor. Since fall of 2018, she has become the Academy ASL Specialist, by evaluating applicant videos, reviewing them, providing individual feedback, and approving new instructors.
I received my National Interpreter Certification (NIC) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). I have been working with and interpreting for the deaf for over 30 years in a variety of capacities including: school systems, colleges, community agencies – which included educational, medical, dental, legal, vocational job trainings and interviews.
