Christine Mason

Christine Anastasia Mason was born in Akron, Ohio and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Her life’s journey brought her to study Deaf culture and communications, as well as the practices of creative arts, holistic health, and world religions. In 2007 she acquired a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language interpretation from Kent State University, and continues her learning through ongoing coursework at Gallaudet University and in regular mentorship with a Certified Deaf Interpreter. Today she works throughout the Northeast Ohio community as an ASL interpreter in a variety of settings, including college campuses, hospitals, and most recently, interpreting with the National Guard’s men and women at Cleveland’s mass vaccination site. She has learned that inward reflection and awareness are indispensable components of her work, and that her singular purpose is to benefit all beings.
